PowerPoint and Digital Media
Let's face it, we live in a world dominated by visual media (TV, movies, Advertising, etc.). Ever asked yourself, why visual media is so popular?It's because people tend to connect on a deeper level through visual messages rather than verbal ones.
Visual images and messages leave an indelible mark on our minds much longer than other forms of communication (just ask the porn industry!).
Many churches are now using this fact to communicate God's Word more effectively in worship. By doing so, they're able to reach and keep others focused on God's Word. This is especially true for younger and un-churched generations.
For years, many people avoided church because of uncomfortable feelings. They didn't understand the liturgy, customs, or traditions. This made them uncomfortable.
Today, many of these people are flocking to churches that use visual media. Why? They have a deep desire to connect to something (others and God) and they're understanding the message.
They aren’t being asked to fumble through various hymnals for songs and liturgy. It’s all on the big screen. They no longer stand out as visitors or people who don’t belong there.
They're being reached on deeper emotional levels through the use of digital media. Visual images are doing more to increase their understanding than mere words can.
You Don’t Have to Be A Mega-Church
Despite what you may have heard or read, PowerPoint is not difficult to use or setup.It also doesn't cost much to get started. We've spent years in small churches with little or no budget and were still able use PowerPoint and videos in worship. We've written several articles to show you how you too can accomplish this goal.
You don't have to have a lot of money or technical expertise within your congregation. Anybody can do this!
We enjoy what we do and consider it a ministry to help others. Together, it is our aim to effectively communicate God's Word in new and exciting ways as we Focus on Him!
